kiezel I added the mintupdate tool from that ppa for it to BL6 repo. I really want it on our app-pack ISO. Despite the existence of a focal package for it, I ran into some issues I had to fix. The biggest one was it would hang with this error sometimes but not always: NameError: name 'ngettext' is not defined After fixing that and looking over the current version in Mint, I went ahead and made a few more changes to it: * systemd: Modify rules in service and timer files to be less impactful * No Automatic Updates without Power Supply * Translations of update status tooltips At some point I prob should go over the current Mint version and add all of that. And then turn it into a bodhi tool, take out all mint references and stuff specific to mint and change folder names and so on. At least it is python with some bash scripting and systemd service files and easy enough to understand how it works. Hats off to the mint programmers that created it for at least writing readable code. Anyway BL6 users please test this: sudo apt install mintupdate Thanks

Will Bodhi6 be available as a 32-bit version?

Yes, it will be based on debian platform later after 64 b and AppPack version release. All is related to Ylee's (or main dev) time possibilities.

Hi, I just installed the pre-alpha enlightenment version - everything worked absolutely fine! I then tried to follow the instruction to add the BL6 repo: Adding the keyring plus the repo address to sources. When doing an apt update, however, I get the error that the signature could not be checked due to that there is no public key available. Did I miss a post in one of the threads giving more recent information on including the Bodhi 6 repos? Are you sure you installed it correctly? what is the output of apt-key list
Bodhi Linux (Repo Signing Key) should be in that output. Sorry, I was offline over the weekend. Actually, I followed the suggestions and was pretty sure that I installed correctly. But I just tried it again just to make sure - and now its working without error!! :-) Thanks for the help! I love the enlightenment version, found out how to customize sddm and its running really really slick!! :-D

Is the end-of-life for Bodhi6 April 2025? Yes that is EOL for the ubuntu base. As we usually do we will probably leave the BL6 repos working for some time after that date.

Kudos on the 6.0 release! It is exceptionally usable and very lightweight. I tried 5.1 in a virtual machine environment to see about using it on my aging HPG6 and found it was difficult to configure and use, but after testing I reimaged the HP with 6.0 and am very pleased with it.
Have you thought about including Spotify to your applications repo? I managed to get it installed, but had to jump through a few hoops to get it done.
In any case, I am highly recommending Bodhi 6.0 to anyone needing a lightweight desktop to run on an older machine.

I can not find a license for the software, it does not include on in its deb file. But the terms of usage of the service/application are really restrictive. I am uncertain if I can LEGALLY include it in a Linux Repository. It certainly seems I probably can not. Maybe there are some Distros here and there that do, I am uncertain. But that does not mean it is legal, at least here in the US where I am. Unless I can find a license for the software and full assurance this would be legal and I would not be facing letters from Spotifies lawyers I can't include it in our repo. Sorry.

The legality is questionable, and it looks like Spotify are fine with people repackaging it for personal use, but for us to host a repackaged version is a very grey area. By all accounts there is no software license to speak of though. As far as I understand it. community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Linux/What-license-does-the-linux-spotify-client-use/td-p/173356/page/2
