Speaking of lightness: does Bodhi really need build-essential tools: gcc compiler etc? There was a lot of whining about the lack of build-essential by a user on one of our releases. If my memory serves me right they lacked wifi and had to compile something to make it work. Did not have ethernet and no way to install build-essential other than some how get the needed deb files on a usb drive and install that way. That problem may no longer be pressing or even exist at all, as there's nowadays an easy solution for those cases: you can simply use the USB tethering feature of your cell phone for providing temporary internet access to your computer. USB tethering is little known, but very useful and present in both Android and iOS. This is how it works: easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/temporary-internet.htmlThe nice thing about USB tethering is, that it can be used for channelling both mobile internet and WiFi(!) to your computer. Which makes it an ideal means for installing WiFi drivers on a computer without internet access of its own. In view of that fact, you might want to reconsider the presence of the build-essential packages on the iso....

As odd as it may sound to people attached to their phones not everyone has a cell phone, and not all with cell phones have a 'smart phone.' But regardless USB tethering like that to your phone should be fairly known about by now. Perhaps I am wrong as I often judge things by how long I have known about it. Do I already have the required packages to do this on BL6? For android and iPhone?

ipheth-utils Is required for iPhones. It wasn’t in the beta. Haven’t looked in the RC

Uh oh... Is that even an issue tho? That sounds like expected behavior to me.
1. Opening a text file opens leafpad in new window (whether you already opened it once or not). No warning needed for typical behavior. If you selected file from disk, it reads file from disk as it is written.
2. I hope he means all changes are lost except those that are saved. If so, yes this is normal. Whichever saves last would be on your drive. Typical behavior and only logical behavior.
I would reply directly to author, but haven't signed up on Mint forum and can't help myself from commenting, cuz when I first read it I thought he was implying there was a bug, now I think its user error.
The closest thing I've ever seen to that is when I used sublime, it seems to monitor files you've opened, and prompt you if it sees that its changed on disk if you wish to reload from disk. But this is an advanced feature I'd never seen in any simple text editor in all my life til I tried sublime a year ago...

Do I already have the required packages to do this on BL6? For android and iPhone? I've done a "bare metal" test with Bodhi 6 RC (booted into a live session, so no virtualization), and I can report instant success: after connecting my Android 10 phone to the computer and switching on USB Tethering on the phone, my phone was immediately and automatically recognized as "wired connection". Internet (WiFi on the phone) was flawlessly channelled to Bodhi. So at least for Android phones, no extra packages are needed. My guess is, that iOS phones need no extra packages either. Unfortunately I don't have an iPhone, so I can't test that.

Note this is the thread for RC. I already confirmed android works during beta and you tested iphone and already said it didnt work without that package then. But now is RC time needs testing to make sure it works! That package you mentioned wasn't added between beta and RC, but maybe it was solved another way, need someone with iphone to confirm on actual RC.

ylee : Bodhi 6 will also feature an Enlightenment iso. But the Dutch translation of Enlightenment is still badly deficient. Some time ago I've submitted, with your help, an improved Dutch translation for Enlightenment, but that was unfortunately rejected because apparently it wouldn't build. So I've created a new Dutch translation for Enlightenment that hopefully *will* build. I've submitted it at GitHub, but apparently the Enlightenment devs still don't pull from that (why?). Anyway, can you perhaps assist me again, by pulling my Dutch translation from GitHub and submitting it in the intricate and wondrous ways required by the Enlightenment devs? It's here: github.com/Enlightenment/enlightenment/pull/9/commitsIf you prefer to receive it as "nl.po" file, please let me know.

Some time ago I've submitted, with your help, an improved Dutch translation for Enlightenment, but that was unfortunately rejected because apparently it wouldn't build. Actually, that translation contained only the most minor of errors, something like a misplaced semicolon. I should have tested it before forwarding it to Raster. And Raster should have fixed it as oppose to reject it and then ignore a later email from me with a patch. So I've created a new Dutch translation for Enlightenment that hopefully *will* build. I've submitted it at GitHub, but apparently the Enlightenment devs still don't pull from that (why?). It's here: github.com/Enlightenment/enlightenment/pull/9/commitsIf you prefer to receive it as "nl.po" file, please let me know. No problem on the nl.po file, I can get it from your fork. I did test it this time and it compiled with no issues. This time I am posting on the enlightenment-intl mailing list. I never paid attention to that before but I believe that is the proper way of doing this. As to why the e-devs don't accept patches from github, I really can't speak for them. But I think they intend that github repo and the associated efl also on github to serve as a backup source. The server e stuff is on, including e-git goes down all the time, a real annoyance to me and surely more so to people actually making commits and stuff. This has been a problem for years and I don't know what the issue is or why has not been fixed. But really they should make it easier for people to get involved, help out and report bugs. Accepting pull request on github and tracking issues there as well as on Phab would help, IMHO.

Thanks for your help... Hopefully things will work out well this time. I'd like to give a fully Dutch localized "Enlightenment Bodhi" a spin.

Hello kiezel, Please subscribe to the Enlightenment internationalisation list if you haven't done so yet: sourceforge.net/projects/enlightenment/lists/enlightenment-intlPreferred translation workflow:
Note that you may need to generate a new enlightenment.pot file then use this template to update your existing nl.po file in Poedit. See the "Enlightenment's .pot" section in phab (xgettext command).
On my system, the output of msgfmt -c --statistics enlightenment/po/fr.po is "2247 translated messages" (full translation). If your PO file contains more than 2248 strings then it needs to be updated.

Thanks, I will. I see that my "new" Dutch translation as submitted by ylee isn't as up to date as I thought, probably because I used an outdated .pot file as template.... So I'll proceed like you said. Edit: Done. sourceforge.net/p/enlightenment/mailman/message/37275128/

@ ylee
I'm currently reviewing Moksha's French PO file and the bunch of module.desktop.in files you imported from Enlightenment. Could you please rename the file moksha.POT (in moksha/po) to moksha.pot so Poedit can find the correct (case sensitive) template file? I stumbled upon this issue when trying to generate a new moksha.pot...

I have renamed it as well as updated it. I also noticed we had a file not even in POTFILES.in. Hopefully, I updated it correctly, I usually don't handle the translation stuff. Typical American only speak one language, I am ignoring the 4 years of french I had in High Scool decades ago. I might understand a few words and a sentence or two in a french movie these days. If you don't use it you lose it.

As odd as it may sound to people attached to their phones not everyone has a cell phone, and not all with cell phones have a 'smart phone.' How about someone without any sort of cell phone? Namely, myself. Now you know someone without a cell phone.
