I was hesitating about commiting. Maybe my fault. As you could see above I sorta did not trust the translations. I really do not want "google translation" level of work. Sorry if I misunderstood...

Hi dear translators again
According my last Moksha code changes I would like to ask you participate on 2 strings translations to your native lang.
One is related to Notification popup orientation on the screen and second one to right mouse click on the desktop to invoke favorite apps menu. I used word "Apps" beacuse Application was too long for empty menu and ellipsis were added automatically which I did not like. So it is up to you...

Unfortunately I'm locked out of my GitHub account due to that bloody 2FA process as my cell phone with the 2FA will return from shop in a couple of days, and GitHub's recover password will take almost as long. If you can wait, I will do a pull request by the end of the week.
If you'd like to add these two translations to pt_BR.po file yourself, here are my versions:

Interesting...
In Portugese and Spanish you have same word for popup. We do not have it in Slovak. Unfortunately I can not find any reasonable translation. I chose something like "Notification position". Slovak very non IT language.

Indeed, that's technically an assimilation from English. Just like in English we have words/expressions from other languages that have been incorporated such as déjà vu (from French), a capella (from Italian) and deus ex machina (from Latin).
At least in Brazil, we are used to "popup" and other English words from tech - push, update, kernel, touch-screen, dial (this one since FM radio), among others. Fun fact, sometimes we even assimilate verbs and conjugate them as if they were regular Portuguese verbs, like "Eu vou uppar o commit" meaning "I will upload the commit". Well that at least in my circles.

I chose something like "Notification position". Slovak very non IT language. S In translation, sometimes it's best to not look for an exact word to fit the original language, but something similar. For instance, instead of calling it a "popup", you could translate an English synonym of popup, like "window" or "panel", "box" etc and look for better translations along those lines to make it feel more natural in Slovak. In other news, I know a little Hebrew and I could help any native speakers who want to tackle that language as well. |
