Would it be possible to add a menu burger button to easily access thunar-bl menu when the actual menu is hidden ?

Not sure I understand
EDIT: OK, I know now. We are not Thunar developers, but in case of hidden menu, press F10 to bring context menu.

This already happens automatically in newer versions. And starting with 4.17.8 you can customize the toolbar too. Here's a screenshot of version 4.18.7 in ubuntu mantic; with menu bar hidden in the left window, note the hamburger menu button on far left of toolbar. It does the same thing as F10. The window on the right is with menubar showing (and no hamburger button on toolbar).
And yeah sure , bodhi doesn't develop thunar, but has added features before, so it's not out of all realm of possibilities of bodhi adding a feature to an app we didn't develop. Case in point, ylee added the "set as wallpaper" when you right click on images.

Yay! I hope so, Bodhi just seems to be getting better with each update :)

Ya. I backported Thunar 4.18.8 from ubuntu noble to bodhi 7, and seems to work okay. If you wanna give it a try without backporting yourself, it's attached.
edit: I can't attach directly cuz its 3MB and this site only supports up to 1MB

So I figured out how to attach it as a split archive.
To install, download all three files, then: cat ~/Downloads/thunar-4.18.8-bpo.tar.gz.* | tar xzvf - -C /tmp sudo apt install /tmp/thunar-4.18.8-bpo/*.deb

Wow, many thanks for doing this :)
By the looks of the XFCE 4.18 changelogs the new Thunar has a lot of bug fixes included which would be great if it was to be added in the next Bodhi release/update :P

Yea, I am sure Ylee is aware of this fact and will prepare new deb with his feature for desktop background.

My suggestion would be, as I wrote in another thread: Thunar has been broken for at least a decade and is not worth using; even less worth compiling, and the split-view is worth nothing on its own, and even less in conjunction with such a broken file manager. Stick with PCManFM. At least it can keep the proper layout and uses less screen space. Not my cup of tea though, what someone will use or not.
P.S.
Just in case you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about...
This shouldn't be possible at all, unless something is very broken.

Took me a while of staring to realize the problem.... the spacing is different in the three different windows. As I use list view, I would never notice this anyway. Is this the only reason you call it broken?

This is ultimately broken (basic functionality of the file manager), and there is a patch, but nobody has implemented it since a decade. There is a thing called "visual memory." One expects keys to be there where one left them on the table. The same goes for the files and folders. The first icon in the fourth row should stay in the same column after one goes forward (to another folder) and comes back again. Thunar manages not only two but even three different layouts. Note the date here: thunar-dev.xfce.narkive.com/IUxWhZUY/how-to-tell-thunar-never-to-increase-space-between-icons

Who uses icon mode anyway?

I had a plethora cons against PCmanFM app. It was my decision to have Thunar as default Bodhi FM. I have been using Thunar for years and I see nothing broken. But yeah, I can confirm absurdly long files names problem. Besides this, Thunar serves me perfectly. I hate Pcman for lack of many basic features like unable to show the actual folder I was in (when I step one level upper). I had also problems with playing medias from samba etc. Maybe it was solved in the meantime but I do not care. Everyone can install any FM that suits him. Freedom of choice Stefan PS: I use an icon mode while theming. I need to see all theme pictures sometimes
