Freedom of choice does not determine whether something is broken or not. Something is broken when it does not work the way it should. Any professional GUI designer can tell you that.
P.S. I added some screenshots to another thread. /Moksha/ Need help updating Thunar to 4.17 or 4.18

As I explained from my point of view PCmanFM is more buggy. Thats why I use Thunar over PCman despite its minor bugs. More over, long file name is not a bug. It is more an annoyance than bug.

I just checked out SpaceFM. I really like its method of split view, even easier than thunar/pcmanfm to toggle on/off, and can split up to 4 ways. And easy way to toggle on/off sidebar stuff. And it does leave breadcrumbs, which was one reason bodhi switched to thunar as default over pcmanfm. They seem to offer both gtk2 and gtk3 versions. However, it doesn't even offer an icon-view mode at all. Which I rarely use, but thewaiter mentioned a valid use case and I'm sure I've used it when browsing pictures with thumbnails, etc, so think it is an important/useful feature, even if the spacing isn't always perfect. SpaceFM doesn't even allow a zoom to make the standard view bigger. Personally, my vote of the three is still (updated) thunar.
edit: But SpaceFM looking pretty good, I may try it as my primary file manager for a while and see.

It has no zoom, and has the same problem with long filenames as Thunar, but fortunately this is not a real problem, as I explained in another thread. However, it does have icon view and preview. You may not have them enabled or selected.

Ah my bad, yeah I only spent a few minutes with it, expanded 'view' but not 'panel view'.
