Simply, try an another monitor to exclude the current monitor issue
Wish I had something that would work, but don't.
Oops, I lied, my tv has hdmi and hdmi 2 ports. So no shadow. My current monitor is slowly going bad.
Marked as solved.

May or may have marked solved too soon.
Just because I hooked something else and the black shadows went away, doesn't mean that worked, I should've watched a video first to see.
One of two things, or both: 1. monitor (showing early signs of failing) 2. grahpics card (monitor is connected through it)
Like I said 2 times already, will have to live with those black shadows for now.

Confirmed solved. Monitor is slowly failing. Hookep up TV and watched an hour show. No shadows of any kind.
EDIT: the tv will not work as replacement though.
