Just last night burned two ISO images of 7.0.0, install went as it should until reboot- the image was not written to the hard drive, repeated install a couple times same result so, I reinstalled 6.0.0 with the sudo upgrade all is back to normal. Was looking forward to the new release... - Computer, HP700-406pc, AMDA10-7700k,12gbddr3,AMD RADEON R7 GRAPHICS...

Hi martini
Sorry to hear that. Open a thread on the support board with some details and we can try and troubleshoot the issue with you. Alternatively jump on to our discord. Depending on your time zone there’s usually someone around.

You must have ubuntu with gnome installed as well as bodhi? If so, you probably need to boot enable os-prober in grub on the ubuntu side, to get bodhi into your grub menu.

I tested the standard distribution of Bodhi Linux (bodhi-7.0.0-64.iso) for the Russian and Belarusian languages support. It seems to work correct: the Moksha interface is localized, Quick Help corresponds the system locale language, Ubiquity is localized too. But I'm wondering why Ubiquity slideshow displays in Russian language old versions of the slides (see attached picture) instead the new ones: github.com/BodhiDev/bodhi-slideshow-new/blob/master/slideshows/bodhi_slides/slides/l10n/ru/welcome.pngShould I push new slides somewhere else instead of the repository Bodhi Dev/bodhi-slideshow-new? I am a slideshow author. Yes, make new slides and pull request. I can not remember that guy name who offered me slides text.

Stefan Great! ;-) I would say that new png-images of the Russian slideshow are already placed to the repository: github.com/BodhiDev/bodhi-slideshow-new/tree/master/slideshows/bodhi_slides/slides/l10n/ru And I don't understand where to make pull request to... Anyway this isn't very important because old images are correct too. New version is a redesign only: more round font etc.

github.com/BodhiDev/bodhi-slideshow-new is the right place to make a pull request. They just failed to be added to the package in the repo. I must not have noticed the images being changed. I will update the pkg and while it may not matter with these latest ISOs the rest of the ones I will have to make (that use ubiquity) will have the new images. Since Ubiquity is a Ubuntu program for the debian ISO (32v bit) I will use a different installer.

What's the deal with the s76 6.4 kernel version? Will that be a non-updating kernel, or will bodhi keep providing security updates thru bodhi repo? Are there any major features that average user might miss, compared with relying on ubuntu's hwe? What is the motivation for offering this kernel? ... You will be able to update the s76 kernel, most likely. I will be following the updates in System76's PopOS repo. There have been 2 already since i got the idea of including this kernel. BTW the packages for this kernel are in the BL7 testing repo. I would expect the s76 kernel to have all the features of the HWE kernel plus any new features found in the newer kernel. It may not be as well tested as Ubuntu probably has more resources and users than PopOS. The motivation was to meet the needs of a particular user in our Discord channel actually. They had a new rather powerful laptop with hardware not supported by the HWE kernel in Jammy's repo. But the s76 kernel worked for them. Bleeding edge hardware needs a bleeding edge kernel. Bodhi is not just for old machines. I hope to attract more of the kind of user who has more powerful newer machines but happens to either like enlightenment or wants the speed and low memory usage Bodhi offers. Too late now, but another option would be ubuntu's oem kernels. They even offer 6.5 there. $ apt search linux-oem-22.04 Sorting... Done Full Text Search... linux-oem-22.04d/jammy-updates,jammy-security 6.5.0.1003.3 amd64 Complete OEM Linux kernel and headers[ Known Issues:I am adding an issues section here so others do not post in this thread or elsewhere the same information. - Somehow the set background functionality of thunar no longer works. Fixed in pkg thunar-bl
- Elementary applications are no using the Moksha Green icons as they should. Fixed in package bodhi-skel.
I've now installed 7.0 my phenom (that my kids use mainly for games). I noticed the thunar not setting background issues too, it's on my list of notes/observations (that I plan to share shortly) but will cross it off now! Also the bl-thunar package wouldn't install itself with an apt update.... I force installed it, but I imagine apt full-upgrade probably woulda done it too. As to elementary, I hadn't noticed what you mentioned, probably cuz I've customized my look with multiple themes, or don't use many elm apps, but one thing I did notice is that the terminology scale (which I believe comes from elementary scale) was at 1.0, whereas moksha was at 1.2 by default.

Yea, we are aware of these little issues. I announced thunar background bug to Robert. More over I noticed we do not have ELM theme set to MokshaGreen by default Unfortunately late but not a big deal. Anyway needed to mention. Stefan

Looking forward to seeing Wayland working in Bodhi. I'm aware it could take to version 8 to have that. Things have gotten so much closer in the past year.
