Hi sudo apt update && sudo apt install ufw usage: sudo ufw status sudo ufw enable sudo ufw disable GUI for ufw = gufw sudo apt install gufw Stefan Ahhh thanks i did that. Firewall was inactive, now active. But when i start to install gufw it says that there were broken dependencies . so i did
apt --fix-broken install
than it says :
..lock frontend couldnd be opened...no permissions...

gufw is that GUI
Run it from menu or use Quick launcher (press ALT ESC and start typing gufw). It will show in popup...

Oh this was a bad idea.... from the moment on i pressed alt+esc, there is a window opened and i typed in gufw, the whole system freezes and i have no other choice than to make a cold reboot. To switch off the computer and on again. Now i booted in a fresh linux install window. All my settings are gone, system looks like i just finished a new installation. What a pitty!!!!!

Interesting. The idea was absolutely great. It should work OK. It must have been a bug in e25 or something. I have never had this behavior in Moksha desktop.

Hours in customizing your desktop? Are you serious? It takes me just a few minutes. But yea, I do not need much. Just a few stuff around.

UPDATE: Now i had to reboot again.... cold boot, by switching off the computer. The system freezes now, while i was "surfing" through the applications-menu. I wanted to look if there is a icon to click to manually start the GUI. From one moment to the other.... FREEZE! Nothing worked anymore, the whole computer was "dead". I guess i have no other choice than to delete the partition on which that system is installed and start to install new again... something... Now i know, that the beta is not stable , therefore i cannot use / install it again. What a pitty. The first Linux i adored and then... but thats my typical bad luck.
PS: not not hours for customizing the desktop. I was doing a lot more...
But i indeed needed some times for the desktop too, cause i wasnt satisfied with only the fresh install look.
The system never had that behavior. Only since i activated the firewall and that gfu.

Oh, sorry to hear that. It is very frustrating. Unfortunately I do know little about your steps in customizations and installing apps. Maybe it is something broken there. I can recommend deleting .e directory in your home dir and rebooting PC. It looks something is bad in E25 config. We can start at this point... You are right, it is a beta release and your feedback is valuable for us.

............ I can recommend deleting .e directory in your home dir and rebooting PC. ......We can start at this point... ...... Stefan No cant do that. I was in that directory and saw that all other changes i have made are somehow stored in there and all the other profiles. I have to find out how i can fix that. I dont start from the scratch on again. I will try to find a solution.

UPDATE:
I was trying to provocate a freeze by doing the same steps like i did before. There was a strange error notice by the gfu GUI, when starting it...
"Invalid UTF-8"
I tried to look at the fonts and tried to look at the system settings, did change some settings... and voila: The GUI is starting. That a font or fontsetting could cause such a behavior???
Until now.... no freezes.... hmmm... will test more... and have my wine *lol

OK, great you have solved that out. Not sure the invalid UTF-8 could cause the system freeze or even reseting the desktop profile. I need to reproduce the issue. But I need to know which font had you set.
