well. today touchpad hangs again... and i have to run key shortcut (WIN+Esc) to execute script for restart touchpad: - pressing WIN+Esc - enter root password - wait 1-2 sec and the problem fixes... but this is not a solition at all. I believe that patch w - hich i described here bodhilinux.boards.net/post/5760/thread is not a complete solution, but it helps ti avoid this issue for a longer time! (may be itis not true) update: in ~30 minutes while using Chromium it occurs again.. damn! my hipotese (correct me if i'm wrong) - may be this issue is Chromium related? - like "when i use Chromuim with touchpad for a long time.... it can occurs" Have you tried installing Opera or Brave web browsers to see if the problem occurs with them. I think the word you're looking for is hypothesis.

I think you guys are trying to blame browser on issue thats nothing to do with browser. Not that I have any better idea. Just dont think its that. More likely xorg or video driver related I think.

My Gateway laptop has an intermittent problem where the touchpad doesn't work. Or, rather, the touchpad only works intermittently. It has nothing to do with Chromium or any other application. In my case, I reboot (maybe a couple of times) and it starts working. It will stop again when the CPU temperature gets too high. I just think it's flaky hardware.

I don't have the solution, but...
One of the best ways to track down obscure bugs like this is to simply google a concisely worded description of your problem followed by "ubuntu", as in "touchpad stuck scrolling ubuntu".
If the residents here don't have a clear solution, you're still likely to find the answer buried somewhere in the backwaters of the wider ubuntu community.
