I have decided to move from TinyCore on my oldest laptop to BodHi.. as I have been using it pretty flawlessly as my main driver for a few years now and thought it would be cool to see how it runs on my old "HP Compaq 6710b Notebook".
I'm having a few issues...
Any ideas?
I'm having a few issues...
- The WiFi is not detecting on booting of the LiveCD. I click on the wifi icon and there is only a ethernet option. I do not have access to ethernet, so without getting the wifi up and running I have a issue here. (I literally do not have ethernet ports of any sort, I live in a remote area and my entire home network is powered by what is essentially a hotspot running from a mobile network .. kinda like a what you probably have on your phone). So if I can get help setting up the WiFi that would be awesome, I think this may solve my issues.
- Obviously I can not click "download" during install as I have no internet. But, and I do not know if this is an error or if not, but if I tick use 3rd party Drivers and stuff, the installer hangs. The download tickbox is greyed out, but the other one below it is not... the installer is not actually hung though, as if I click quit I it closes fine and I can run it again. I assume this is that installing these things requires a internet connection.
- If I leave that unticked.. it seems to install fine.... but towards the end, before finishing and asking for a reboot, the screen goes completely bank and has a cursor in the very top left. The installer will not advance beyond that point. If I force a reboot and do not use the iso-usb, then it when it tries to load from the hdrive I get this same blank screen with a cursor in the top left.
Any ideas?
