I would like to install gprename and downloaded gprename-20160905.tar.bz2. But how to open and install this?

You can also extract the tar file in a terminal by doing
I’m assuming in the extracted files there will be a .deb file. You can install this using apt
Edit - I haven’t check the repo, but searched online and it appears gprename is in the Ubuntu repos. So you should be able to install it the normal way. apt install or synaptic

More info: docs.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/archiveStefan why this does not come default Bodhi Linux 6? Does it come in Bodhi Linux AppPack? looks great.

If you mean the thunar archive plugin, yes that is included with apppack edition.
