I have an unusual request: can you perhaps put Bodhi's mintupdate (and kernel-manager) in a Launchpad PPA? I mean the mintupdate (and kernel-manager) that you've modified for Bodhi 6.
The reason is, that I would like to test it in straight Ubuntu 20.04 and Xubuntu 20.04....

Yeah that is an unusual request. I have an old account there but I have never used it for anything more than reporting issues which btw are seldom addressed. On reporting issues, I have had much more success in just writing the devs themself directly. This is even more true now considering my role as a Bodhi developer. So emailing the devs or finding them on IRC is what I tend to do now.
I have never tried to create a Launchpad PPA. It sounds like it could be a hassle and a little time-consuming. Maybe a lot time consuming getting it all setup.
have you considered the possibility of just testing using our repo since it will be on ubuntu 20.04 anyway?
just add our keyring and repo install the stuff and remove the repo from your sources.list if you wish afterward.

Yes, that should work as well. I think I'll take that approach... By the way: you mentioned that you're planning to do some extra work on mintupdate at some point in the future, in order to "demintify" it. Could you then perhaps also lump the .debs of mintupdate and its supporting files together into one "big" .deb file, so that it can be used as a stand-alone installer in the *buntu's as well (without the need for either a Bodhi source or a PPA)?

FYI you can just download the deb files directly from bodhi repository with web browser, including any defendant packages if needed, then sudo apt install from command line. I just use a temp folder so I can `sudo apt install ./*.deb` in such cases, but you could instead specify every package.

I will keep that in mind
