Although my 'name' sounds Finnish, I am from Germany, and I am not a Finnish person at all. I got to know Bodhi when there was the 2.0 edition in 2012. I was looking for a replacement for my Windows system, tried this and that and then discovered Bodhi, found it not that easy to handle all the 'strange buttons', but was amazed by its low system requirements. Over the years I have learned to handle many of the 'strange buttons'. I am still no real expert and for from being a developer or a programmer. By now I am, however, able to impress people when I show them my Bodhi machine. I am a teacher – and I take pride in the fact that my Bodhi laptop device appears to be one of the very few ones at my school that virtually is able to connect to all peripheral devices without any flaws. And my students love it when there are those penguins on the screen. For me things have changed totally. Each time I have to work with a Windows PC, I have to acknowledge that there is simply no left-click with the mouse that opens the menu. Frustrating ... In short: I am spoiled for any Windows system. There is a really good chance that I will stay with Bodhi as long as Bodhi and me exist. And this is all your fault! Thank you for your wonderful work. Looking forward to meeting version 6 … Kari Suolainen

Hi suolainen
Welcome to the forums and community. So pleased Bodhi is working out for you. As you said it takes a bit of getting used to, but once you’re familiar with it it is impressive for older hardware, and I also enjoy the penguins after all these years, like your students.
Thanks for the feedback, and hope bodhi continues to satisfy. It’s good to have you on board, and thanks for spreading the word!
🙂

Hello suolainen
It takes a little adjusting to get used to the Moksha desktop. I am a long-time enlightenment user so I am well accustomed to it, but I still remember some of the confusion. Like the first time I doubled clicked a title bar and the window "rolled up" to nothing but a title bar. I had never seen that before on any OS and at the time was uncertain what I did to cause it or how to reverse it. I am also like you now and always right-click a desktop regardless of the OS or DE and expect a menu to appear, it is a habit you develop using Moksha or Enlightenment.
I am thrilled Bodhi is working out for you and glad to have you onboard.
