Hello
Yes, it is possible. The app name is redshift. If you are OK with command line app then it is enough. If you need the GUI and tray icon, install redshift-gtk. For app autostart, add redshift to Startup application list.

Redshift does not work anymore (hasn't done so for a while). What are the best alternatives? I'm sure that appcenter availability of a working alternative would be appreciated by the Bodhi users.
./gummyd: error while loading shared libraries: libddcutil.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
and can't find a way of installing libddcutil. Could someone help me with this?
EDIT2: there's also gummy executable which gives
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
what(): execl(/usr/libexec/gummyd) fail
This is probably the executable that I should run? And it looks like something to do with the libddcutil library which is about C++ if I'm not completely lost.

I use redshift. My problem in BL7 is not connectiong to Geoclue2. It is a service to identify your latitude and longtitude. My workaround is to manually set lat and lon in ~/.config/redshift.conf config file:

After creating a config file redshift-gtk gives
gdk_window_thaw_toplevel_updates: assertion 'window->update_and_descendants_freeze_count > 0' failed
and redshift gives
Trying location provider `geoclue2'...

Could not connect to wayland display, exiting.
Failed to start adjustment method wayland.

Waiting for initial location to become available...
Unable to start GeoClue client: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: 'redshift' disallowed, no agent for UID 1000.
Access to the current location was denied by GeoClue!
Make sure that location services are enabled and that Redshift is permitted
to use location services. See https://github.com/jonls/redshift#faq for more
information.
Unable to get location from provider.
I don't know what to do.

I gave you a method how to solve your problem. Have you read a post above?
Copy and paste the content to ~/.config/redshift.conf file. Just change your GPS coordinates

I repeat, after creating a config file, I get the errors mentioned in my previous post. |

This morning redshift command works, I suppose it's ok now. Thank you for the config file.
However, redshift-gtk still gives the same error:

Yea, I can see that in my PC as well. It is apparently related to GTK widget toolkit. Looking at redshift github shows me the project is not maintained anymore. Last commit from 2020. Ignore the error for now  Stefan |
