I noticed in my conky list of running processes that unattended-upgrades was running. I haven't installed it, so it must be part of the Bodhi HWE default install.
Investigating further though, it appears as though it was not actually activated, as essential configuration files are not present.
This article is one of many out there that explains how to do that.

How does this differ from the Automation in mintupdate which for BL5.1 can be installed via apt or from synaptic? With BL6.0 pre-alpha I have been using a mintupdate tool maintained by gm10 a former Mint developer. I get it, his PPA is not in the repository so use at your own digression. I have followed gm10 and his updater on the Mint forum for a few years - I trust it and it works for me. I would expect when BL6.0 is released the mintupdate tool will be in the repository. launchpad.net/~gm10/+archive/ubuntu/linuxmint-tools

Personal preference, I suppose. I found that unattended-upgrades was already installed, so thought I might as well make it work. It runs invisibly in the background and is part of Debian.
