If anyone hasn't tried, the easiest way to check out these backgrounds is just install them all and look at them in the bodhi wallpaper view. sudo apt install bodhi-background-* Thanks for sharing these ylee. Thanks for the tip, enigma9o7. I ran this command, but I'm not sure where the wallpapers were saved to. It seems I need to navigate to them in the wallpaper settings. That’s right. Have you found how to view them? Not sure if your post was a question or not 🙂

Thanks for sharing these ylee. Thanks for the tip, enigma9o7 . I ran this command, but I'm not sure where the wallpapers were saved to. It seems I need to navigate to them in the wallpaper settings. The wallpapers in the bodhi-background packages are saved to /usr/share/enlightenment/data/backgrounds/. They are edj files and not simple image files. An edj file is a compressed file that contains the image or images as well as one or more edc files and possibly other files. Enlightenment, Moksha and Elementary themes are all in this format. The edc files contained within are a type of code which describes a themes or backgrounds layout, colors, images, fonts and even sounds. From the Enlightenment Foundation Library Documentation: There are two programs in EFL and installed in Bodhi to work with these edj files, edje_cc and edje_decc. These two programs are for developers. There is also a program, edje_player, which is capable of displaying Bodhi's backgrounds and other edj files. But yes the easiest way to view them is to look at them in Moksha's wallpaper settings.

Start --> Settings --> Wallpaper (Or Settings Panel --> (Look) --> Wallpaper) Select "System" (not "Personal" or "Theme") and you'll see them.

That’s right. Have you found how to view them? Not sure if your post was a question or not 🙂 Hippytaff: You're right, I wasn't very clear there, sorry. Yes, it was meant as a question, but I made that hard to know by not including any question marks or, you know, actually asking a question ylee: Thanks for all the info, very interesting to know how it all works! enigma9o7: Somehow I thought I tried that before, and it didn't work previously... but when I tried now it did! I think the key was to click "System" instead of "Personal", as you say. Thanks! All set up and working now. These are great quality wallpapers!

Yeah personal is when you can use regular jpg/png type files. Apparently that's not quite as efficient as the edc packed versions in system. Also with bodhi 6 you can right click in thunar (file manager) and assign a jpeg/png as wallpaper too. And if you set it to the theme one, every moksha theme has its own default wallpaper built in too.
