I took some time and added some Bodhi backgrounds to the Repos. These are mostly backgrounds images used in old Bodhi themes, previous versions of Bodhi or some of ones created by Vaidotas in the past. Expect a few more backgrounds in the next few days. Are there any backgrounds from previous versions of Bodhi or past themes you would like to see added? Enjoy

I took some time and added some Bodhi backgrounds to the Repos ... Expect a few more backgrounds in the next few days. While the year has just started, " Expect a few more backgrounds in the next few days" has got to be the understatement of the year for me We now have a total of 43 backgrounds for Bodhi or Enlightenment in our repo. Twenty-three of the new backgrounds were made for Bodhi in the past by the talented graphic artist Txemi Jendrix. If you have been a bodhi user for a long time you may remember him and/or some of these backgrounds from the past. These are some incredible wallpapers and I had thought they were gone forever. I found a reference and couple screenshots in my notes from the past and my google-foo skills found his online collection Checkout his website if you wish: www.txemijendrix.com. The backgrounds he contributed: In addition to his exquisite artwork, I have also added the old Bodhi Moonlight background and the background from the now-defunct MoonOs: Enjoy EDIT:Found one more stored in the photos on facebook's Bodhi page, silver by Micah “M1C4HTRON13” Denn.

Thanks for all your work. I really like the moksha-crema theme wallpaper - it's in the repos - can this be added?

Thanks for all your work. I really like the moksha-crema theme wallpaper - it's in the repos - can this be added? That background is in a theme we already have in the repo but anyway I will add it for you Anyway I have more backgrounds I will be adding shortly. Going over all Agustin's old e17 themes. Some nice backgrounds in them with comments in the edc file stating it is an original background he designed. I had thought he designed the crema background and theme but the edc file in it states Glen 'g60' Larsen created it in 2007 and Agust modified in 2012. Agust prob just added the bodhi logo. I don't know or recall Glen Larsen.

Here are 12 more backgrounds, in this case, all taken from old Bodhi/e17 themes. For the most part these are original backgrounds created by Agustin J Verdegal. Agust has created a really large number of enlightenment themes over the years and contributed a lot back when Bodhi was e17 based. This is by no means all the backgrounds from the old themes. I had forgotten how many such themes and backgrounds ppl contributed to Bodhi over the years. Anyway ... Enjoy

I have added 10 more backgrounds. I have a few remaining from old themes but they are mostly animated and take more effort. I am gonna put those off for now and get back to them later. A few backgrounds from old themes have copyright issues or I just decided are not good enough. I also have a collection of backgrounds from other sources, maybe 70 or more in total. I am delaying adding these also as they are from unknown sources. Before I can add them to the repos I have to determine the copyright and original author if at all possible. Enjoy

These bring back old memories.
Ylee do you happen to know what happened to Agust? He seemed to me the most talented (at the time) "themer".
I remember seeing him on the Manjaro forums quite a few years ago when I was trying to find an E distro (and after Bodhi seemed to dissapear due to Jeff's "departure").

This is great! Sweet collection to be sure! It's going to take some time to check them all out. I'm curious... I have a background image that I generally use in Bodhi - it is a photo I took while canoeing on Lake Superior, about a 20 minutes north of Grand Marais, Minnesota, USA. I'm super far out in the lake and it's smooth as glass, which almost never happens on that lake...it's way too large. Anyway, the front of the canoe can be seen and the water and outline of Minnesota slowly melts into sky. I'm not an expert photographer, but people that see it seem to always comment. It's shot in sepia so the colors really do blend well into a nice gradient. The shot seems to lend itself to a soothing background - I'm not sure how that all works for repos, etc... Anyway, I was wondering if someone with some skill in photo manipulation would care to add "Bodhi" or something along those lines to for others to possibly use? If so, sweet and if not, also sweet! Anyone with experience willing to walk me through or point me in the right direction as an alternative would be most welcome as well. *** Thanks for the compilation of backgrounds old and new!

If anyone hasn't tried, the easiest way to check out these backgrounds is just install them all and look at them in the bodhi wallpaper view. sudo apt install bodhi-background-* I'm using one I found in there right now...

From my point of view if you have an image you wish to use as a Bodhi background and want to add text or an image on top of it to give it a Bodhi brand it is best to do so in the edc code. That way someone can remove it or alter it easily by decompiling the edj and editing the edc file. You can look over the code in my github for the backgrounds on github to learn how to do that. Some of the backgrounds have images added on top of the background image all done in the edc file. For example a-nostrum has two images one a background and one a logo added to the background. I am sure there are others that do the same. Just to lazy to look over all the code.

Thanks for sharing these ylee. Thanks for the tip, enigma9o7. I ran this command, but I'm not sure where the wallpapers were saved to. It seems I need to navigate to them in the wallpaper settings.
