My wireless was working fine when i ran it from an SDcard as Live, but after installing the Networking icon doesn't load up in systray. I've tried reinstalling with different settings a few times with the same result as well as doing integrity checks on the installation files. I can get the LAN connection working through 'Menu > Applications > System Tools > Network Connections' and might be able to do the same with WiFi, but it would be too inconvenient to always use through there. So what am i missing?
On a somewhat unrelated note, the snow effect on this forum appears to be overloading my eeePC so i can't use it for posting 'inxi -Fxz' output directly (and my GUI performance seems abnormally sluggish in general)... Got it copy-pasted from .txt through gmail:
