Every since I used Bodhi, the caps lock light would always be on booting and restarting, had to tap it twice to turn it off.
One of the last updates fixed it. Thank you. |

I'd never seen that, I wonder if that was related to the first letter capitol in virtual machine that was recently fixed.
Bodhi turns my numlock off after boot/restart tho by default. I use a program called numlockx to turn it back on in startupcommands.

Also turns my num lock off, but I’ve noticed it happens whatever distro I use. I say whatever distro, I’ve only noticed it with Debian/Ubuntu based ones. I’m sure it’s probably a bios thing!? Just a guess. It’s never bothered me enough to investigate.

Oops, what I meant by last updates, usually done Friday night or wee hours of Saturday morning.
When I tried 20+ (lost count) distros earlier this year, num lock came on only. Bodhi the num lock was off and caps lock was on. Num lock is still off.
Mentioned the caps lock over at the LQ forum back in 2018, I think. Got used to it, so it didn't really bother me.

At some point, the code in moksha/e17 controlling backlights started picking up cap lock key and perhaps other keys as a backlight control. It seems the Linux kernel went thru some changes (semi-educated guess) that caused that but recently we added a test in the code to stop that from happening. It was a minor problem I had been ignoring but regardless glad it is fixed, at least the issue in Virtual Box VMs. That was annoying me even though I grew to expect it.

Glad its fixed too, no more tapping twice. When caps lock light was on after boot/restart there was no capital letters anything while on. Only after tapping twice, then tap once to actually use it normally. ylee, not sure if you meant only fixed in VM, no VM in use here. Sorry if I misread. |
