I have just installed bodhi legacy in an old Thinkpad Laptop.
The LCD screen is broken, so I am using a dock connected to a 16:10 screen with maximum resolution of 1920x1200. The problem is that the dock does not support that resolution, and the screen is noisy and blinks.
The LCD screen is broken, so I am using a dock connected to a 16:10 screen with maximum resolution of 1920x1200. The problem is that the dock does not support that resolution, and the screen is noisy and blinks.
Once the system boots, and I log in I can set the resolution using ARandR to 1680x1050 and everything is OK. That preferred resolution is stored as default in my user properties, and I get blurry and blinking screen on boot, but a nice 1680x1050 screen after I log in.
However, I'd like to set that resolution at boot, I have tried using the GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX parameter, but it didn't work. The 1680x1050 mode is not shown when I enter grub command mode and list all suported modes with vbeinfo. Actually, no 16:10 or 16:9 display mode resolutions are shown, only 4:3 modes are listed, however, the default mode shown at the end of the command output is 1920x1200
The problem is that when I change to console using Ctrl-Alt-F2, the display is also set un 1920x1200, so this mode becomes unusable.
¿How could I configure the system so it boots directly in 1680x1050 mode?
This is my inxi -Fxz output from a terminal window (after logged in and with the proper resolution set, I can't get the output from the 1920x1200 resolution mode)
