I just wanted to share some information that others may (or may not
) find useful on the PCTV 800i tuner card.
I had tried to get this card working in Bodhi v7 but had run into an issue. My kernel version is 5.15.0-142-generic.
I found that the manufacturer (Pinncale Systems i believe) made this card with slightly different versions of the Samsung chip that is onboard.
My original tuner card that worked under Win 7 had the following chip: S5H1411X01-T0. It did not work in VLC.
I found another 800i card on eBay (very cheap) S5H1409X01-T0. This card does work in VLC. Yayy!!
I had stumbled across an old conversation on the web from someone else who had this issue.
This person gave me the clue about trying the 1409 version that indeed worked.
Just thought someone else might find it useful.
