This is the first time I've attempted to do anything with Linux and I'm surprised I've actually got it installed and running!
The install is taking hours to complete. Is this normal? It's been 10 hours now.
I formatted a thumb drive with Rufus then copied Linux Bodhi to it. I then installed a freshly formatted NTFS hard drive to the PC with the USB plugged in. There were no other drives. The PC booted off the thumb drive and I followed the prompts.
Thanks!

No, installation should certainly take less than an hour. Something isn't going right....
Also FYI no need to format the partition ntfs for use with linux, bodhi's installer is going to format it (ext4) anyway.

Transfer ISO to USB with Rufus in DD mode.

I´ve installed BL on many old laptops, and the installation takes normally 15-20 Minutes ( without updates ). I had once the same problem of yours ( first time with Q4OS and then with BL ), and it was because of a bad USB stick. I tried again with another one and it worked. I used Rufus without DD option, but I´ve read often that with DD activated it should work better.

Moment, do not select update during the installation and install 3rd party drivers. I faced this problem several times. Keep them unchecked.
