Hello my name is Jennifer
Believe it or not over a decade ago bodhi was the first Linux OS I installed. Think I was like 12. I saw a YouTube video about it and installed it partitioning windows. Which trapped me with it for a long time.
We were very poor but dad was a trash man and he would pick up pcs people threw out and I would take them apart and put them back together and take them to the library. And installed your operating system on them. Some of you may recognize me from the subreddit and know why I'm here.
Eventually I would find lubuntu and fall in love with it. But I became estranged from Linux for many years. When I returned I learned they ruined everything I liked about it by switching from lxde to QXDE/QTDE I knew something was wrong for weeks. Kept bothering me. Something wasn't right. Tried to ignore it. But one day I was reading about the file manager I learned they changed it! I wasn't imagining things. I was distraught. I tried putting lxde on lubuntu and it broke EVERYTHING! The browser didn't even work!
I distro hopped and found like only 3 OS (kanotix, antix, fedora) were officially supporting lxde! Kanotix language support is soooo bad. It doesn't even change the language to English after install. Fedora was fine but I didn't know the terminal/bash lexicon so even just doing basic things felt hard. But it had lxde <3. Just as I was accepting I might have to become a fedora wearer I remembered bodhi Linux. I installed bodhi. No *useless junk* apps and virtually no libraries. Ubuntu based. Easy to use. Super light weight. I put lxde on it (moksha is good too but like this)
So I went to the bodhi forums and thanked them.
Much like the lead dev I work in trades/blue collar irl. But at home I am an indie game dev. Which is what brings me here. I made a post on the subreddit and am about to duplicate that post here so bodhi users know. I'll be building the game on bodhi and hand out a limited number of free keys when it publishes one day. All of my games will be made on bodhi with godot (opengl renderer) and I will hand out some keys to the bodhi community every time I publish. I really appreciate what you guys have done for me. It's impacted my life. From 12 to 26. I'd even be comfortable using moksha. I even use terminology instead of lxdes lxterminal. Looks better and intuitive to use.
Anyway I'm off to post about my game in off topic
