I dont know if this post is in the correct area so please move if neccessary.
I have picom and picom-conf installed on my Bodhi 7.0 install. I have found picom.conf.example file at /usr/share/picom-conf but can not find the picom.conf file itself anywhere on my system unless I am missing/overlooking it some where. Where should I look to find the file as I would like to make some adjustments regarding transparency and shadows. The picom.config.example file only seems to give info on changes but does not do any actual configurations. Many thanks!

~/.config/picom.conf is what picom-conf will modify, if that's what you're asking.
To confirm picom is using the same config file you're editing, run "picom --diagnostics" which should return "* Config file used: /home/USERNAME/.config/picom.conf" as one of the results.

picom.conf is the file I am looking for but I can not find it anywhere. Run picom--diagnostics from where, terminal or quick launcher? From terminal it gives:
command not found
From the quick launcher, the window closes with no results.

The file ~/.config/picom.conf will be created the first time you change something the picom-conf GUI (Window Effects).
You forgot the space when you ran picom --diagnostics, which yes you must run from terminal. If you start picom with no config file, it will return "* Config file used: None" which means it is using defaults.

Found it where you said it would be. Many thanks and I will mark this thread solved!
