Thought I had asked this, but can't find that, either!! How can I search for installed applications? eg have installed an app (gparted?), and want to find/run it, from the menu.
In kde for example, can just click on the main menu and start typing.
Thanks,
John

Open the Quick Launcher from the Main menu (or keyboard shortcut) and type the application name or just the first few letters. Results will show as you type. There are several keyboard shortcuts set up by default for this. I use CTRL-ALT-Space.
