At long last, I am thrilled to announce the BETA release of two Debian Bookworm versions of Bodhi Linux 7.0.
Both can be downloaded on our SourceForge site.
While I regard both of these as a deBodhi release (for DEBian Bodhi), we will be keeping with the past tradition of calling the 32 bit version a Legacy release. Both releases are very much like the Usual Ubuntu release with a few exceptions, the package list is slightly smaller, the Debian base has some minor configuration differences compared to the Ubuntu base, the Debian base has some new versions of libraries and apps in some cases, and in a few cases Debian does some things differently than Ubuntu (changing Plymouth themes for example). Also note, we did not bother with trying to port our Web Browser Manager over to Debian. We will be keeping the Bodhi packages in the deBodhi releases up to date with the same packages in the standard Ubuntu Releases.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE PLANNING ON MOVING TO DEBIAN FOR ALL RELEASES.
Please report any issues or possible improvements to these ISOs here. But try to keep things on topic this time and only post about issues with the ISO or the installation. Moksha, theme, or application issues are a separate matter and should be posted elsewhere. Support questions on Debian should be posted elsewhere. Be sure to mention you are using the deBodhi version of Bodhi.
Team members doing support, sadly you are going to have to become familiar with Debian if you are not already. As well as familiar with some of the difference between the Ubuntu version of Bodhi and these releases.
Thanks and enjoy
Note:
- bodhi-7.0.0-legacy-beta.iso featuring the 6.1.0-17-686 Kernel
- debodhi-7.0.0-64-beta.iso featuring the 6.1.0-17-amd64 Kernel
Both can be downloaded on our SourceForge site.
