Hi, I'm on 5.0.0 appack, I think. When I use my Bluetooth speaker, it starts buffering, on the laptop's OWN speakers, it works fine! (something it took me Long to IDENTIFY!). What's wrong? (Initially I thought, somewhat incredibly, that it's the BRAVE browser - since, for some reason, Firefox was acting up less - do they access the Bluetooth speaker somewhat differently or something?).
Anyway, hope you can help (it's a JBL bar with one bar and one bass speaker - no idea right now about the model no.)

does this only happen when you are trying to play content from the internet on your speaker? does the same thing happen if you play a song or movie from your hard drive?

I think so, yes. There is some problem with Linux, with streaming over Wifi, and piping that audio to Bluetooth - the previous version of Bodhi I had didn't work at all, the update to Bodhi 5.0.0 fixed that. Well, obviously not in totality.

I think so, yes. There is some problem with Linux, with streaming over Wifi, and piping that audio to Bluetooth the problem with using wifi and bluetooth at the same time is why it would probably be helpful if you could confirm that you do or do not have trouble with just bluetooth and playing local media. when i was trying to troubleshoot bluetooth on my bodhi system, i used journalctl -f quite a bit to see if there were any errors or other helpful messages both when i turned my bluetooth on and when i was connecting to my devices. dmesg | egrep -i 'hci0|bluetooth' can also show you some kernel log entries for bluetooth in case there are any errors or other helpful messages there. systemctl status bluetooth should be able to give you an idea if the service was loaded correctly and running well.

OK, I can confirm that since the time I *stopped* using Bluetooth on my speaker, and connected it to my puter with a wire, there has been little to no buffering issue! Where do I go from here? rcatbc: OK, I'll try your suggestions some time, but if I find something WRONG, THEN what am I supposed to do?

if the above listed commands show any errors or problems, it would probably be helpful to run a web search for the text in the error message. you should be able to list your bluetooth adapter with lsusb . running a search for your adapter + "linux driver" might help you see if you have the suggested driver. of course you can also post any of the above here to see if someone can help troubleshoot, but it helps if you have done some of the legwork of at least running the searches to see if someone with a similar problem or equipment has found a suitable answer

I have a : Bus 007 Device 003: ID 0cf3:3005 Atheros Communications, Inc. AR3011 Bluetooth
When I Google, there's a bunch of "not WORKING" (ie. at ALL) posts for that adapter, but nothing saying what I have just stated.

I have a : Bus 007 Device 003: ID 0cf3:3005 Atheros Communications, Inc. AR3011 Bluetooth the first couple of pages of the list linked below show the same model (USB 0cf3:3005 - AR3011 Bluetooth) working on at least four different systems built on ubuntu 18.04 (two mint 19 and two ubuntu 18.04 - like bodhi 5.1 is) using the btusb driver: linux-hardware.org/index.php?id=usb:0cf3-3005
