I installed Bodhi 7.0 to my main rig and am loving it.
I have an old Acer laptop that I would like to install Bodhi on. No matter how I try it defaults to UEFI. This laptop does not support UEFI. So, how do I install grub in the MBR? This isn't my first rodeo, but I can't figure this one out...

Perhaps it has to do with how you're writing the iso to usb? For example some machiens won't work with unetbootin. If writing with linux, dd is reccommended, or with windows, using rufus and select dd mode when prompted. Another option is ventoy,

I used Rosa on a Linux machine. Then I tried rufus in dd mode. Haven't tried ventoy. I'll give it a shot.

OK. I used dd from a terminal to write the ISO. Install was flawless. The only thing, after I chose where to install grub the installer gave me a warning that it likely will not boot and I should create a EFI partition. I told it to carry on.
Now I'm running Bodhi 7 on my antique Acer, a 5315-2135 Aspire.
Thanks for giving my mind a joggle!

I see that too, but like you, just carry on and it works anyway.

Old hardware, but as you probably can already see, still usable. To keep it from getting too slow pay attention to memory usage to avoid swap.
If you want to make it faster, you can get a 128GB SSD for around USD20 and you'll be amazed how much faster it boots and loads apps (and swaps). That old 80GB Seagate you are using is quite slow, but even a fast spinning disk is slow compared to SSD.
If you want it faster than that to avoid swap, add more memory.

Yea, it does need a SSD. The RAM is maxed out. It had 1GB when I bought it. Tried to go to 4GB but 2GB is all the mobo will support.
