Just wondering if it is possible to search the Menu for items? ie click on the menu/start typing...? Thanks.

Yes. Alt+Esc. Or from default start menu select "quick launcher". Can add quick launcher (aka everything starter) to shelf (panel) if you want, maybe even remove start menu if you like and use it for everything (I do that, can get old start menu by clicking on desktop anyway, who needs an icon!). It's also very customizable from settings if you wanna customize what options are available, can make the icons big and make it take full screen, make it one click to launch, etc.

It will be even easier to bring Quick launcher. I added a new feature of just standalone Win key press. Wait for next Moksha release Anyway, implementing the searchbox into menu system is quite complex menu rework. I do not have it in my to-do list. I consider it too hard an prob beyond my skills.
