I have Bodhi installed on an old laptop and love it's simplicity. I am building a new desktop and already know it will run all the apps that I am concerned about. But: Can Bodhi support new hardware like the motherboard and graphics card? I'd like to do some gaming. Can it support current games and online gaming? If so which version would be best for this application? Thanks Much,

Yep, Bodhi runs lightning fast on new hardware too. Any version is fine, standard if you want to install your own apps, apppack if you want some preinstalled apps, that's personal preference.
Apppack does come with an older kernel so it might possibly not support newest hardware, but you can upgrade to newer one if it doesn't... the hwe kernel is specifically made for "hardware enablement" to support newer hardware, and there's also oem kernel for even newer stuff, both work fine with Bodhi. The s76 kernel version already comes with a slightly newer kernel to start with... but anyways it really doesn't matter cuz you can install any of the supported kernels on any bodhi version.

It will work, but you probably should either use the HWE or s76 versions, because they have the newest kernels and thus will also support new hardware.

I tried HWE but I think it had problems with my motherboard, Asus Z790 with wifi. It kept hanging on install. I switched to Standard and all is good. Love it.

Bit of an update. I have found a problem with Bodhi Standard and my Asus Z790 with WiFi motherboard. It is not working with Bluetooth. Can't find the Bluetooth device. I'll post more as I find out more. I had thought the problem was with PulseAudio but I think that is incorrect.

You need to install blueman for Bluetooth on Bodhi, or whatever Bluetooth manager you prefer. I recommend blueman though.
sudo apt install blueman

I do have blueman installed. In PulseAudio Preferences selections are grayed out in Network Access, Network Server and Simultaneous Output. In gnome setting / Bluetooth shows No Bluetooth Found. I'm bouncing back and forth between a PulseAudio problem and a motherboard Asus Z790 with wifi problem. I am considering: Upgrading PulseAudio Switching from Bodhi Standard to s76. Rather not do this one because everything else is installed. I just recently realized that Bluetooth wasn't working. Maybe just bite the bullet and hope I never need Bluetooth. (Yeah Sure.)

You can switch kernels easily by installing another one, it doesn't affect what you have installed. But I doubt that's related to your bluetooth issue.

The s76-kernel is the most recent, so this might be your best bet. As enigma said, you're just switching the kernel, it won't affect the rest of your installation so well worth a try.

s76 is not the most recent.
