I'm not familiar with chromebook, but to add the `alsa` command, install the alsa-base package.
sudo apt install alsa-base

OK, thanks
So I added alsa-base, alsa-firemeware-loaders, now I really do not get this error massage at the end. at the mean time - no sound thru the speakers.. so lets check Line by line if there is an error,

This is my solution for one user from the past with Chromebook sound issue. Unfortunately it looks same as that one from de-googling article:
sudo apt update && sudo apt install alsa-base mkdir acer cd acer wget raw.githubusercontent.com/rgvxsthi/Braswell-EDGAR-Linux-Fixes/master/asound.state pgrep alsa sudo cp asound.state /var/lib/alsa/asound.state sudo alsa force-reload
Not sure what everything you tried. I would recommend using this method after fresh Bodhi installation.

Just reinstall the system yesterday evening.
Thanks for your instruction.. it is more detailed then to those in the de-googling guide. but unfortunately it did not solved the issue
I will try fresh install later today.

Give my method a try. If does not help, open terminology and type alsamixer. There are many slides. One could be muted. Actually you can play with slides right now. Press F6 to choose the right audio device. Also keep in mind there could be sliders out of the window. Just move to the right with right key arrows and check the mute. Stefan

Hi Stefan. sorry for my late response. it is interesting.. in alsamixer there are many many options. the default view of alsamixer looks like this: if I press F6 and choose the default card 1 I get many volume sliders, where I can see a speaker slider for left and right but I have no access to rise it.

Why not? Just use UP/DOWN arrows for changing value, LEFT/RIGHT for changing sliders and M for mute/unmute channel.

I really do not know why, the slider title is red and I see in the upper menu the that this item is selected, but it is not possible to change it, it is locked on zero.

@ OP: Hi, have you tried changing sound output with Pavucontrol? Also if the first solution didn't work try this solution: If you're trying to say that raising the Headphone volume in alsamixer worked to get the sound from your speakers, then here is the fix so it survives a reboot: 1. Open a text editor as root and go to: "usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/analog-output-speaker.conf" and when the file opens find this section below: ; This profile path is intended to control the speaker, let's mute headphones ; else there will be a spike when plugging in headphones [Element Headphone] switch = off volume = off Change it to this below: ; This profile path is intended to control the speaker, let's mute headphones ; else there will be a spike when plugging in headphones [Element Headphone] switch = mute volume = merge 2. Save and close the file, ignore the terminal warnings and reboot. This second solution helped me getting audio on an Panasonic ToughBook CF-C1 laptop, I hope this helps you, Good luck! PS: This is the original post that I got the solution for my issue, look for the post on this page with my username (heavy metal) on linux mint forums: forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=315406&start=60
