Hi everyone, I have an old Windows 7 laptop. I previously installed an old version of Bodhi, screwed it up, so needed to reinstall Bodhi 7.0. On my other machine, I created a new USB drive with the correct Bodhi 7.0 ISO (checked the MD5 all OK). I have tried twice now to install. In both cases, when it finishes, and restarts my laptop, the laptop turns on, shows me the F2 F10 screen, then tries to boot and fails. It gets stuck in a loop where the backlight turns on and off as it tries to progress to the "next stage" and doesn't. The first time, I chose to just wiped my old Bodhi install. The second time, I did the "something else" install and manually assigned EFI, SWAP and EXT4 areas, setting the bootloader to install on EFI (following this guide here fostips.com/install-bodhi-linux-usb/?amp=1#rb-Step-7-Manually-Allocate-Disk-space-for-Bodhi-Linux). That didn't work. It still just won't boot at all. It looks like it's trying to do something but just can't quite get there. I remember I had an issue the first time I did it a year and a hlaf ago, something to do with grub, but it was so long ago I can't remember now. I now can't access my Windows 7 installation to make any changes even if I wanted. Can anyone offer any advice? It's a Samsung RV520 running Windows 7. Many thanks Davey

Have you tried to install Bodhi 7.0 (S76) .iso ? That comes with a newer kernel incase it's a driver issue.

No I haven't, this stuff happened the first time I installe it a year and a half ago. I forgot, at the time, that I got it working seemingly by accident. Any advice on exactly where the bootloader should be loaded? Is it affected by the boot order on the BIOS?
