I'm currently using a ThinkPad and external HDMI Monitor, so I ran Settings -> Preferences -> Monitor Settings and setup my screens and managed to save a command which I ended up pasting into my .profile file so it would automatically setup screens on boot. Is there any easier way to do this ?

There is a "save to moksha" option in the monitor settings gui. That will save it to ~/.e/e/applications/startup/startupcommands which is a script Moksha executes on startup. What you did is effectively the same, although I think .profile is called by several different desktop environments, so would be more universal if you are logging into multiple desktop environments for some reason.
