Can you please suggest a free or open source alternative to Inkscape for Windows? I like it, but it works too slowly on Windows. I´ve seen many browser based apps, but I would prefer an "offline" app. Opinions about Microsoft Expression Design? It is old, but free.

There is no free SVG editor worth installing in 2023. The main question is, what do you need it for? LibreOffice Draw can also create and edit SVG, as can Kalligra, Scribus and sK1, but they are mainly DTP. The only viable option is to buy Affinity Designer 2. There is at least one 40% sale every year. This Black Friday it was discounted again. It is almost Illustrator quality and is a one-time purchase. affinity.serif.com/en-us/designer/

Using it at work sometimes and I was wondering why it was so sluggish. I suspected the computer was too slow (it IS slow), but didn't experience such a slow response on my old laptop, which is probably slower but running Linux.

I’ve seen a few posts now where you’re selling or at least touting proprietary software 😂

I have problems only with windows version. On my Linux machines, Inkscape works very good. I do not need advanced features ( just creating and modifying images for a couple of websites ). I will give LO Draw a try.
