I'm planning to put a SSD in the machine one of my daughters use, and have her help install and set it up clean; its currently running Bodhi 5.1.
I'd like to install an app store so playing with them in VM to see which is best. I noticed that gnome-software has a hard dependency of software-properties-gtk which installs two additional apps in the preferences menu - software sources and ummmm something else i think ubuntu software or something. By using equivs build to make a fake software-properties-gtk package, I was able to get rid of those extra apps, and gnome-software still seems to be working. So my first question - why is that even a hard dependency in the first place, and is using equivs the correct solution to avoid installing it?
Are there any other app store apps people would recommend for Bodhi? I think I'd like for it to be able to support flathub too, which gnome-software does. Is there a way to install the Mint app store? I've tried plasma-discover but wasn't super impressed, plus it offers plasmoids and stuff specifically for plasma that doesn't apply to bodhi, so not quite as generic.
