Not Able to Enter Password into Terminology [SOLVED]

Hello,

My problem is that when I open Terminology and type the command "sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade", I am prompted "[sudo] password for tom" but when I hit the key to begin entering my password, nothing happens.
