First of all, hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and new to Bodhi Linux. As you can see in the title, when trying to install Steam on Bodhi Linux I get the following error:
Fatal Error: Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again.
And obviously I have an Internet connection, I tried downloading Steam from the terminal and in Sypnatic Package Manager and I get the same result. Thanks in advance for the help.
Greetings.

Is it possible that you were just unlucky and at that moment Steam was down? Have you tried later and gotten the same error?

I'm guessing this was Bodhi 6? I'm with xpi, maybe it was just glitch, try again.. my kids use steam on Bodhi 5.1 practically every day so I know it normally works....
(The reason I asked your version is I just tried to test steam on bodhi 7 alpha, and it won't even install! - so can't even get to the error you reported. I'm gunna look into this further then likely report it in 7alpha thread...)

Hello guys, it seems that the problem is solved! What I had to do was add the Google DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) and solved! Thank you very much for the assisted help and I also hope this fixes the problem in case someone else has the same problem.
But now I have another problem related to WIFI (I don't know if I should create another topic for this new error), I have a network card to connect to the Internet via WIFI (obviously) and after an hour of use it only disconnects me from the network WIFI and it asks me to log in with the password to the WIFI network, I tried removing the Google DNS and leaving it by default, but the problem persists.

You should make a new thread, because anyone not knowing about steam won't look here. But they might know about network issues.
