When first begining the install I get a "common interrupt: 1.55 no irq handler for vector". It then proceeds to boot off the flash drive and begin installing, I go thru the setup menus, it connects to my wifi, etc. When the formatting drive for install comes up it crashes out to a black screen with the aforementioned error and about 10 more lines of text which I can post in a pic if possible. Thanks to anyone that looks at this😎

As an aside, I can run bodhi off the flash drive, but it is obviously very slow. I attempted to install from the gui, and it crashed and burned.

Please boot up Bodhi from your flash drive, run terminal, execute the command "LANG=C free -h" and say what you see in the "Mem:" row, "total" column.

bodhi@bodhi:~$ lang=c free -h total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 1.5Gi 215Mi 87Mi 36Mi 1.3Gi 1.1Gi Swap: 0B 0B 0B
This is what I got, actually posted it from the laptop running bodhi off the usb. Thanks for responding

I don't have any good ideas. Have you tried booting safe mode then installing, or installing directly from the initial menu?

I do install directly from the initial menu, and those are the errors that I get. Thanks for the attempt.

I meant safe mode from the installer iso, the second choice on the menu. When you said you installed from GUI I assumed you meant from live mode (first choice on menu), but if you've already tried directly with the simple installer from menu (third choice), probably safe mode won't do much better, it mainly avoids graphics issues. Dunno. No ideas.

Thank you for the photos. Let's ignore the message "common interrupt: 1.55 no irq handler for vector" - it is an information only. What about "I/O error"... Is there some CD/DVD disc in the drive inserted? I see "dev sr0" that means an optical drive. If so, take it out.

Good news, I'm now posting from my like new old presario, and so far (about 15 minutes) it seems to be working like a dream, seems pretty quick so far. I attempted a different linux version Q0420 or something, and I noticed while it was installing which failed I was getting all these usb communication errors, so I got a different drive and made a successful install. You were also right, there was an old dvd in the rom drive which I took out. Still getting the irq handler error on boot, but doen't seem to be affecting anything. Thanks for your helpful responses.
