I went through all BIOS configs, there is nothing offering a choice for the display. I learned the specification of HP ProBook 4515s from this datasheet: www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2009/Mobility2009/Datasheet-Datasheet.4515s.pdfThe "Graphics" chapter contains: Please check the BIOS again for the "HyperMemory" settings and disable it or reduce it to the minimal value (128 MB, 64MB or 32MB) if it is possible. P.S. Try to switch to the text console (Ctrl+Alt+F2), login as "bodhi" and determine the notebook graphics adapter as described here: help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonDriverMaybe there are ATI driver kernel parameters to restrict the graphics memory size...

Sorry, but there is nothing in the BIOS configs even distantly reminding me of video or hypermemory....

Sorry, but there is nothing in the BIOS configs even distantly reminding me of video or hypermemory.... There is a way to restrict VRAM usage with the radeon driver parameter "vramlimit". Try to add that to the kernel parameters as described here : radeon.vramlimit=256 This restrict VRAM to 256 MB. This is quite enough for Bodhi. You can check the memory usage using the command: free -h
