Hello all, I am experimenting with trying to download and install Windscribe VPN, on both Bodhi and Lubuntu. In Lubuntu, I right-clicked on the DEB file that I downloaded from the Windscribe site., and was prompted to "open with QApt package installer". That opened up a terminal, and the installation proceeded automatically.
But how is this done in Bodhi? I right-clicked on the DEB file, and was prompted to open with Synaptic package manager, but nothing happened from there. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I should add that I was able to get Windscribe installed by keying in "sudo dpkg -i actual_filename.deb", (as shown on the Windscribe site), substituting the exact name of the Windscribe DEB file for "actual_filename". I first keyed in "cd Downloads", then "ls", to get the DEB file name. But I was hoping to get it installed by right-clicking on the DEB file, then opening it in some way. Thank you.

Bodhi standard doesn't come with any gui tool for installing debian packages, only command line apt (and dpkg). Using apt via a custom thunar shortcut works fine as you already figured out. Alternatively, you could install qapt-deb-installer if you wanted the same tool you're using in lubuntu, or if you want a gui tool that avoids the terminal completely, try gdebi (which comes preinstalled in bodhi apppack edition).
