OK, i am not familiar with Bodhi (legacy) but am excited to see it in action.
Was looking for a 32-bit installation to give some new life to an old laptop that has been on the shelf for many years. an old toshiba satellite (circa 2002) with WinXP and only a couple g of ram.
so far so good - successfully installed and about half way through the dist upgrade.
Hoping for some basic functionality on this old laptop.
fingers crossed.
anyone else have good success with a legacy setup on a system with minimum resources? tips and tricks? (im sure there is a page in the forums for such a setup)
thanks!

Hi jamba
Welcome to the forums and community. Glad you decided to use Bodhi to revive your old machine. I’ve done so many times with 10-15 year old 32bit machines. Let us know how it goes.

My firt experience with Bodhi, was on a Toshiba R600 ( very cool laptop! ). It has a 2x1.4 ghz CPU, 3gb DDR2 and normal hd. I installed the 6.0 version, and it works very well. Before Bodhi, I tried Win10 ( silly me! ), and, of course, it was not suitable for such a setup. I did another test with Ubuntu: same result. Bodhi will stay there. I think that the 32 bit version will work on your laptop. Let us know about it, and welcome to the forum!

Snap shot. Hi people! I need to take snap-shot (like used to in Windows 10) of part of the screen.

Hello users of the Bodhi! I don't know how to start a topic. Fairly new/unexperienced to Bodhi, so I put my querry here. I do apologise for any inconvenience caused. I tried to take snap-shot of part of the screen. Can't see that feature at Take Screenshot pre-installed to Bodhi tool. Found somethink like this: sudo apt install moksha-module-screenshot in one of the forums, but probably doesn't work. Can any one give me a hint what software under Bodhi is for a partial screen-shot? Kindest regards ! Trolik

Hi Trolik Yes, moksha-module-screenshot is what you are looking for. As you have installed module, you need to enable it under menu->settings->modules settings. Once you have enabled module, you need to add module GUI called gadget. Press right mouse button on empty shelf (panel) and invoke content. Add screenshot to the shelf. Change capture mode to "Select region". The taken pic will be stored in /home/user/Desktop folder. | |
