kittybua, Thanks for your interest.
BTW, sounds like your python problem is not a problem or issue with python as much as it is with the python apps you wish to use that have not updated their code to reflect python changes.

Thanks for all the work you put into Bodhi!! Will there be again an enlightenment Vanilla version of Bodhi 7? I am using the 6.0 variant and absolutely love it.

Idea: If Epiphany is to be the default browser, how about start with the newer version 43? I've read good things about it.
The kinetic packages seem to work fine (if you also update libgmp) when I try.
One SHOULD NOT take the deb file from Ubuntu kinetic for epiphany-browser and libgmp and use on jammy/BL7. You end up breaking apt: sudo apt install libgnutls28-dev [sudo] password for ylee: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies: libgmp-dev : Depends: libgmp10 (= 2:6.2.1+dfsg-3ubuntu1) but 2:6.2.1+dfsg1-1ubuntu2 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. Other more fundamental packages rely directly or indirectly on the correct version of libgmp being installed, such as coreutils.

I am anxiously awaiting for it to be announced and available! You and me both Sharp. I'm posting this from Alpha 3 in Virtualbox. I've been using Ubuntu Unity 22.10 and it's great but I miss my Moksha. I'm not going to bug Ylee, Stefan or any of the others because they should take all the time they need. I've loved every release I've used so far and I expect I'll love 7 as well.

Alpha 3 release is fully usable. Unfortunately we are waiting for Ylee and his better health condition. Only one shelf gadget issue left to solve. In the meantime I added a new feature to Moksha. Users will be able to change shelf icons size from shelf settings dialog with slider.

Ok Stefan. I took your "advice" and wiped my machine and installed alpha 3. Yes it's running great. I wish all the best to Ylee and I hope he gets better soon.
Much love to the Bodhi team.

Trying it out now but, my question is why firefox is now a snap package and can not be installed any other way? I hate snap so that would be a deal breaker for me.

This confuses me too Sharp. For sure Firefox is a snap on regular Ubuntu but on my machine:
[jason@hx90 ~]$ snap Command 'snap' not found, but can be installed with: sudo apt install snapd
FWIW I installed Firefox from Flatpak and it's running fine.
Oh but I think I see what Sharp is referring to?
[jason@hx90 ~]$ apt search firefox firefox/jammy 1:1snap1-0ubuntu2 amd64 Transitional package - firefox -> firefox snap
So since Ubuntu no longer provices Firefox as a deb package only this transitional package is available from apt?

Ylee already packages chromium due to this issue. Not sure if he also does the same with FF. if so it’ll be in the Bodhi repo. Can’t check right now.

Ubuntu has made Firefox a snap package. And on Bodhi Linux 7.0 alpha I have not added any way to install Firefox as a deb file. It is a bit early to worry about minor issues like this as I have plans on how to better deal with installing common web browsers. In theory this will include Firefox.

Congratulations to the whole team for the development of Bodhi Linux 7, and we will be able to keep the old computers/laptops in activity.

I am using Pale Moon on Bodhi Linux 6. 1) Will Pale Moon be kept in the repositories for Bodhi Linux 7? 2) Would it be possible to also put Seamonkey Browser for Bodhi Linux 7?
