I installed Variety and the wallpaper is not displaying on the "root" desktop, but it does show up in little display for vDestops. It does not set on main window either by using the menu system to set wallpaper. it has the same effect as Variety. If I change the theme it shows up but if I change the image again the bad behavoir happens again.
update:
control Panel -> settings -> Profiles -> Bodhi Linux -> reset
I need to logout I think , maybe reboot. Ctrl+Alt+Esc doesn't appear to reload the desktop. Rebooted, the setting -> wallpaper works in, but variety isn't changing the wallpapers even though it says it is. It is no longer showing up in the little Vdestop images either. tying uninstall then reinstall. Nope, Variety has no effect on changing anything but the list for images to use in the systems selection for wallpapers available.
something is defiantly broken.

Hello there. I sorta forgot what variety module is, but if I understand you need an automatic wallpaper changer. Install slideshow module (moksha-module-slideshow) and set the folder with your pictures. It should fulfil your needs.

Stefan I got it figured out, I reset the desktop and didn't reset dbus, I seen that written for a condition in the script, I now it works, now i can use my script I hacked awhile back for XFCE4 to set backgrounds on here too the way i have it setup to store images to use.
I just added that change to this one for variety it seems to work so far. I'll check out that one you mentioned too. thanks.
how do I mark these post solved?
