Having just bought a new Geobook 120 I assume it's relatively up to date hardware-wise. It came with Windows10, I have installed Bodhi as a dual boot. In Windows the Geobook connects happily to my router. In Bodhi, nothing doing - no network devices available. The lspci output in Terminology tells me I have a Network controller Realtek Semiconductor, RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter. So it's there. My router is set up WPA and WPA2, both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I am in UK, my provider is Vodafone, and amazingly, the settings overview from 192.168.1.1 sees the Geobook but it is greyed out, as is my switched off smart television. So the router knows it's there, presumably from the previous Windows sessions, it just won't connect in Bodhi. There doesn't seem to be an ethernet input on the Geobook so I can't download and install a driver - unless anyone knows better?
Any ideas please? Thanks in advance.

Hi NogBad As you don’t appear to have Ethernet, one option would be to download the deb file on to a usb stick, copy it over to your home folder and install it from there. Once it’s in your home folder, open a terminal and do sudo dpkg -i *.deb this will install all files that end in .deb so make sure you don’t have any others in there. You can find the deb file you need here. pkgs.org/download/rtl8821ce-dkmsAssuming you haven’t updated your kernel, it’s the 20.04 one and assuming your machine is 64 bit, it’ll be the AMD64bit driver. Let us know how it goes.

Hippytaff - you are a genius. But you already know that... Had to jump through one little extra hoop, namely setting a password to change the UEFI. A walk in the park compared to some updates...! Thanks. NogBad.
