Hi I'm my3ke and I'm messing around with Bodhi 6 on this old Chromebook. So far it's doing well except maybe the touch pad needs to be disabled while typing. Expect typos.
This is a HP 14 chromebook of 8 years whic.h until today had been converted to GalliumOS once Google stopped supporting it. I tried a few other lightweight distros, but Bodhi won as it squeezed itself onto a 4GB RAM, 16GB SSD and runs rather smoothly. I'm still tweaking it so I may ask questions from time to time.
Me? Retired (read:old guy) email admin, but was expected to do most things around the server room. My first computer was a Timex Sinclair 1000, which is still around here slightly modified. Hope that qualifies as a intro as I need to plug this in to charge now.
Nice place you have here! my3ke, as in 'mike' but the '3' is silent.

Welcome to the forum! I am new here and to Bodhi as well. I found this ebook to be very informative in using and setting up Bodhi: www.smashwords.com/books/view/1086439. It is advertised at the top of the forum home page in the "news" area. It answered many of my questions and helped me get many things accomplished with Bodhi. The book did cover disabling the touch pad which I also wanted to do on my laptop. |

Awesome to hear, Sharp ! It sounds like you are already starting to become a Bodhi Linux expert  I too found jollyroger 's ebook incredibly helpful as well. In poking around our website and Wiki I noticed we don't have many convenient links to it...I will work on fixing that soon! my3ke , if you have not done so already, you should check that ebook out as well. It deviates from our default desktop setup a bit, but that's half the fun Be well! |

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. I did find the ebook and am giving it a read now. I tend to read the instructions and then give things a try. Other guys I worked with dive in until it breaks and then read the instructions! No thanks. I'll let you know how it goes, but now I have to mow the lawn.
