The main reason I stopped using Firefox and its variants is because of the RAM tests I did with 3 tabs open. These numbers are the browser itself, not including total operating system RAM. Bodhi typically hovers between 160 and 400 MB depending on how long it's been running. Logging out occasionally can recoup most of the RAM but sometimes a reboot is necessary.
Slimjet: 384 MB SeaMonkey: 386 MB Opera: 414 MB Brave: 420 MB Chromium: 446 MB Vivaldi: 484 MB Basilisk: 504 MB Pale Moon: 506 MB Firefox: 542 MB Firefox ESR: 552 MB LibreWolf: 572 MB
If I had 8 GB RAM I probably wouldn't care as much, but with 4 GB I'm always looking to save resources.

Many say nowadays 4gb is the lowest one can have to just do the basic stuff. Unfortunately the net is not so light anymore. For me firefox has also an ideology advantage. If it does no longer exist, then we are just left with chromium based browsers. And in my advice to users that i tell them to use bodhi, a warning goes along that ie the machine may boot up nice and smoothly, but be prepared for some serious issues one opens a few tabs, opens libre office, etc...

And in my advice to users that i tell them to use bodhi, a warning goes along that ie the machine may boot up nice and smoothly, but be prepared for some serious issues one opens a few tabs, opens libre office, etc... With 4 GB it depends on the machine nowadays. My desktop from HP is rather good still. Many laptops are having issues now with 4 GB. Mozilla does collect a lot more telemetry than in the past, which is why I would go with LibreWolf. I never looked into ABrowser for any telemetry that might get sent back to Mozilla, so I don't know. Mozilla gets a lot of money from Google. www.pcmag.com/news/mozilla-signs-lucrative-3-year-google-search-deal-for-firefox Google has won the real life browser wars, at least for now. The problem is most people just click and surf with no thought about what data is being collected. They set up Google accounts all in the name of convenience. They link their Google and Facebook accounts and the data collection continues ad infinitum. If people would take their privacy more seriously and stand up to these platforms, use their brains, things might be different. So at this point it seems to matter very little with what browser we use, except for Chrome. Using Chrome is just an invitation to have your data scraped to extreme lengths. Even if some thought is given to privacy, LibreWolf for example, you'd be surprised how many people defeat the purpose by having convenience accounts set up.
