would it be possible to add a config to menu - applications - preferences - monitor settings to have a new drop down menu showing: virtual screens: *input* - 2 screen split - 4 screen split - 6 screen split - 9 screen split ? if so, I'd very much like to suggest that as a feature for that settings page. maybe it could hook into xrandr somehow? maybe even add it to the "outputs" drop down? CONTEXT: xrandr --setmonitor *output*-*Virtual monitor #* *math to set resolution* *output* BETTER EXPLANATION: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9KxpPyJMJA

Have you tried that script? I did, and it does not work for me. If it works for you, create more scripts according your needs and create aliases for easier run.

maybe it's as Brody says, it's probably the desktop environment in that case, I haven't tried it, because I'm terrified that I won't get the setup back, I'm running Bodhi on bare metal on my HTPC and I kinda need it to work like it does already, no confident in linux yet to where I'd know how to revert things without having to reinstall.

Install timeshift so you can play. Its an app that lets you take a snapshot, then mess with whatever you want, then restore back to snapshot.

A theory to the issue of the script from Brodi's video in the 1st post not working is the desktop environment, or more specifically having a tiled window manager instead of bodhi's stacked window manager, there are apparently hybrid/dynamic ones, maybe if we swapped whichever's in use to a hybrid/dynamic one like dwm or something, then once the virtual monitor script runs, it switches to tiled, then back to monocle/floating/stacked when you shut it off.
would that be a reasonable suggestion?
