On my Bodhi 6.0, with the Moksha-Green theme, I installed HPLIP using the .run script from here and hplip-gui from Synaptic.
It does work, but the tray menu and the window of hplip have a white background, which doesn't match the Adwaita-dark app theme or the Arc-Dark app theme, that I also tried.
How can I give hplip or hplip-gui a dark theme, please?
Note: I'm running Bodhi 6.0 AppPack 64 bit.

Is there are way to also make hplip dark in Bodhi 5.1-64bit? The package qt5-style-plugin-gtk2 doesn't exist there.

That package was installed already, but hplip is still white on Bodhi 5.1.

You may have to set an environment variable too.
QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=gtk2

I already have almost the same entry, but without the 2 at the end. Shall I add your command or replace the existing one? I guess, replacing is ok, right?

I think all you need is to reboot PC or logout and login.

No, sorry, logging out and in again or rebooting don't change anything.

Try installing one more package
sudo apt install qt5-gtk-platformtheme
