Interesting, i tried that on my Imac and it was the first linux distro that didnt showed me a black screen without the -nomodeset- option.
It seems that this distro will accept my ATI HD4670- but the installation is a kind of horror... ascii in terminal window....
And one thing is strange too, packets error ... when you use synaptic.. and installed a few things... the packet errors i had with E25 too. Thats nasty.
Is this a normal thing at Linux at all?
But well... even with all the seemingly solutions i found in internet didnt work. Packet errors stays...

I would like to briefly thank you again here for the Refracta reference. On my Imac, Refracta is running great. Also, strangely enough, the ATI HD4670 is recognized without any problems. After installing the RV730 radeon driver the ATI runs perfectly.
Apparently there are serious differences between Linux and other Linux systems. What I would not have expected as a newbie. But well, I don't have much experience with Linux systems.
Refracta is more difficult to install and it is a very simple system, which you have to work hard to make a visually beautiful system, but it is worth it in the case of IMACs. I will not use Refracta on any other computer but I will use it on IMAC. For the other computer system ( Ventron) Bodhi Moksha is the system of choice. Thanks for this tip.

Like i have said here before: one should search well which tool will do the job best. This is one reason i do not understand why the awesome and bloat free BL is not popular. Regarding refracta i agree xfce is not beautiful. Or as lightweight as BL. But it is STABLE, easy to use, simple. Really glad you found my recommendation useful. I have historically not convincing my friends use any distro i recommend. Because i usually recommend distros that nobody knows. The refracta installer is something i really like by the way but i am a weirdo. Again really happy since i enjoy sharing knowledge or making suggestions about good software.

Surprisingly people like out-of-the-box solutions. Lots of apps and stuff around. I saw some YT reviewers criticize Bodhi is too bare. What should I say? Nothing. Some people do not like our green theme becouse it is green. Some people hate our flat icon set because it is flat. People are always people. 100 people = 100 opinions as we use to say in Slovak.

I think Bodhi provides a good compromise with the availability of different iso's containing different sets of software.
It seems a simple task to switch themes for the desktop. I've looked at all of them and I do prefer the MokshaArcGreen. I've adjusted the icons to have a more classic look, but otherwise I've left the theme as is.
Even back in my Windows XP days I did look at their different themes but decided I liked the default for the most part, but I've seen YT videos with different themes and at least they were interesting to look at.

Yes, so I must also say that the basic visual theme of BH is actually very nice to look at. I just decided against it because 1 ) it doesn't fit my temperament, 2) the color -green- isn't really my thing in the long run and 3) I actually don't like the icons. Because they are flat and look too modern. It's just not my taste. But as an identification theme of BH, it was carefully and appealingly selected by the creators.

I am using the daedalus test edition. OMG its pretty fast and ... until now very stable.
Gosh i have two "constraction places" BH MOKSHA and Reflecta... I somehow begin to love Linux. Even if it is hard to learn ..sometimes. And the next "construction place" the third one, will be the new Beta from Yelee , on a third computer - if i will find someday the dirct link download.
I lve to test!

The more I get into Refracta and build it out and visually embellish it, the more I love it. It is very clearly designed. Meanwhile I have tuned it visually and there are beautiful themes for xcfe... on various internet sites. On the wonderful Apple monitor ( Imac) everything looks so beautiful. I have to hand it to Apple, their Imac monitors are fantastic. The Daedalus variant of RF also has a new installation routine. No more ascii menus in terminal. Very impressive. Both systems are very nice, both BH and RF.
There would be much more to write about BH and RF but... i am afraid i dont have the power today..
Thanks again for this tip.

I like xfce because: all my friends with money and monster machines return to xfce when in a major new version gnome for instance breaks. I like refracta default theme. All i care is about performance and stability. Xfce is rock solid. Unfortunately it lacks manpower so it has not excelled in being as lightweight as i would like. Xfce has numerous beautiful themes you can find on the net. But for me performance is the king
