what i have noticed about distrowatch:
1. what goes viral in distrowatch, ie #1 in rank, stays there for long periods, since people see it there being at the top, so this attracts even more attention.
2. each new release, makes a distro climb that ranking, see where is now peppermint.

Bodhi should definitely be much higher than just in the top 35. It should be in the top 10! Especially I as a newcomer in Linux would assume that especially beginners would love this Linux distribution very much. I have tried many distros before I learned about Bodhi. And which distro did I stick with? Exactly! Bodhi!
Whether Distrowatch is doing everything right... I don't know.

We used to live in the top 30. Things happened and we dropped…mainly the loss of our forums. Since reinstating forums we have gone from being in the 70s back to the 30s (in just over 1 year). We are only beginning to get back to where we were, and I have no doubt what so ever that as soon as people notice us we will be in the mainstream. We are already regularly mentioned on popular podcasts and feature on magazine cover discs when we do a new release. We are gaining quite a bit of attention, and the distro speaks for its self when people give it a spin. Here’s to remaining humble in the face of mainstream success 🙂

I've been accessing Distrowatch for at least 10 years and the distros have seen lots of ups and downs. At first it used to be Ubuntu the king and then Linux Mint. What really matters as ranking is the 6-month ranking where unfortunately Bodhi is only number 57 right now. Many news and updates for a distro is what gets them higher on the ranking. E25 beta might have been a lost opportunity... but I hope a E25 RC would make wonders I usually come to this forum indirectly by visiting distrowatch (and therefore) casting a vote.
